A stainless steel weld is not very aesthetic upon completion and requires finishing. This is especially true for products where appearance is critical (shelving, retail baskets). Finishing achieves perfect surface unification on the weld and its surrounding area.

First comes the pickling (cleaning) of the weld. This stops oxidation and removes typical heat tint. Unlike grinding, it does not damage the surface of the wire or sheet metal.

This is followed by electrolytic passivation. This restores the metal’s protective layer, which protects the steel from corrosion and was lost during welding.

The treated weld is polished until the difference between it and the original surface disappears. Polishing provides a higher quality result and is significantly safer than traditional surface treatment using aggressive pickling paste. Contact us; we will tell you everything we can do for you.
